Increasing poverty in Mongolia
De Volkskrant publishes the report that more and more inhabitants of Mongolia are suffering from hunger:
‘The rise in food and fuel prices earlier this year has pushed many Mongolians below the poverty line. One-year inflation stood at 32.2 percent in September, much higher than in most other Asian countries. According to calculations by the Mongolian government and the United Nations, 800,000 of the nearly three million Mongolians are not sure of their daily food supply.’
Help underprivileged children in Mongolia
Since 2006, the foundation tries to improve the situation of the children in Mongolia each year. Thanks to donations and collection campaigns, we have built 26 gers (living shelters).
Even a relatively small amount of money can do a lot, because in Mongolia, where many herders earn barely twenty euros a month, your money is worth more than five times that!
