Woodworking course for orphan children

The Steppekinderen Foundation also wants to ensure long-term improvements and provide orphans with meaningful activities that allow them to develop a sense of self-worth and a chance to learn a profession that will enable them to support themselves later on. That is why Altantulga, our employee in Ulaanbaatar, has started giving a six-month course in woodworking, carpentry and furniture making to ten eager children in an orphanage on the outskirts of the capital.
The photos show some young students designing simple pieces of furniture and executing their designs with wood.

Help underprivileged children in Mongolia
Since 2006, the foundation tries to improve the situation of the children in Mongolia each year. Thanks to donations and collection campaigns, we have built 26 gers (living shelters).
Even a relatively small amount of money can do a lot, because in Mongolia, where many herders earn barely twenty euros a month, your money is worth more than five times that!
Thank you to all who support our small but important work!
