Help for vulnerable family
A homeless, seriously ill mother with two young children receives a ger with stove from the Steppekinderen Foundation in the Khan-Uul district of Ulaanbaatar.
With a special theme day dedicated to the fate of underprivileged children in Mongolia, School Community De Waerdenborch in Holten starts a fantastic aid project on December 16th, 2010 to support the work of the Steppekinderen Foundation. The foundation gave a few lectures that day, while Mevo Reizen from Holten, a travel agency specializing in trips to Mongolia, set up a traditional Mongolian nomad tent in the hall of the school. The guest of honor is Prof. G. Tumurchuluun, representative of the Mongolian Embassy in Brussels. The students and employees of De Waerdenborgh have raised a total of €10,800 for the steppe children. Thanks to their efforts, the foundation has been able to help three poor families with housing and it has prevented ten children in need from wandering the streets of Ulaanbaatar, among other things.

Since 2006, the foundation tries to improve the situation of the children in Mongolia each year. Thanks to donations and collection campaigns, we have built 26 gers (living shelters).
Even a relatively small amount of money can do a lot, because in Mongolia, where many herders earn barely twenty euros a month, your money is worth more than five times that!
Thank you to all who support our small but important work!
