Frank and Martine van Warmerdam in Mongolia

Two adventurous travellers, Frank and Martine Warmerdam, who left the Netherlands for Mongolia by car in May 2012, inform us that they have finally arrived in Ulaanbaatar after a long journey. There Altantulga, our collaborator from Mongolia, showed some of the results of the foundation’s work to Frank and Martine.

They feel extremely privileged to be able to make this great journey and are therefore eager to share their happiness with people who are experiencing adversity. On a previous trip, they were able to provide important financial aid to a village in Cambodia. In the same way, they use this trip to raise money for the Steppekinderen Foundation.

It is heartwarming to see how many friends and acquaintances sympathize with their travel adventures and deposit money into the foundation’s bank account. With their campaign they raised a total amount of €3,067.35.

Help underprivileged children in Mongolia

Since 2006, the foundation tries to improve the situation of the children in Mongolia each year. Thanks to donations and collection campaigns, we have built 26 gers (living shelters).

Even a relatively small amount of money can do a lot, because in Mongolia, where many herders earn barely twenty euros a month, your money is worth more than five times that!
