Mother and son finally shelter

On April 13, 2014, we received a request from our employee in Mongolia to donate a living tent to Ms. Chantsaldulam Tsetsgee. She is 29 years old and disabled and lives with her five-year-old son Altansukh. Mother and son live on the street and until recently spent the night on the site of a power plant. Above a pit, the mother had made a kind of wigwam in a primitive way, with a pole and some rags, to live in.
This shabby housing offered no protection at all against the extremely low temperatures during the winter, which are often more than twenty degrees below freezing.

Chantsaldulam Tsetsgee is unemployed, but tries to make ends meet by begging and collecting discarded bottles, cans and other salable rubbish.

The Steppekinderen Foundation has now had a sturdy living tent (ger) built for Chantsaldulam and her son, equipped with a stove. This living tent is built on a safe site in a suburb of Ulaanbaatar.

Help underprivileged children in Mongolia
Since 2006, the foundation tries to improve the situation of the children in Mongolia each year. Thanks to donations and collection campaigns, we have built 26 gers (living shelters).
Even a relatively small amount of money can do a lot, because in Mongolia, where many herders earn barely twenty euros a month, your money is worth more than five times that!
Thank you to all who support our small but important work!
