Birthday concert Marnix Busstra
On August 30th, guitarist/composer Marnix Busstra, secretary of the Steppekinderen Foundation, celebrated his fiftieth birthday with an exclusive musical performance at the North Sea Jazz Club in Amsterdam. With three special mini-concerts he treated his audience to special highlights from his life.
It was a festive, evening-filling program, which was performed in a dazzling manner by enthusiastic, well-known artists.
The man of the hour had indicated that he did not want any gifts, but would greatly appreciate it if his friends and acquaintances would support the Steppekinderen Foundation with a donation.
There was a sympathetic response: after the birthday concert, a total amount of €1,245 was donated to the foundation.
Help underprivileged children in Mongolia
Since 2006, the foundation tries to improve the situation of the children in Mongolia each year. Thanks to donations and collection campaigns, we have built 26 gers (living shelters).
Even a relatively small amount of money can do a lot, because in Mongolia, where many herders earn barely twenty euros a month, your money is worth more than five times that!
